The Grua Mining District
The Grua Mining District is situated about 50 km north of
Oslo, Norway.
Mining started up as early as in the 16th century.
Iron, lead and zinc have been processed in this area.
Also limestone, marble and granite have been exploited.
The zinc-mines were operated till 1927, since then all the mines in
the Grua Mining District have been abandoned.
